Job title: RN Trauma Registrar
Job Summary:
The RN Trauma Registrar is responsible for accurately maintaining and updating the trauma registry for a healthcare facility. This includes documenting patient information, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes related to trauma cases. The registrar plays a critical role in ensuring that the facility is in compliance with regulatory requirements and that data is available for research, quality improvement, and performance reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain and update trauma registry database with accurate and timely information
- Abstract data from patient records and input into registry
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to trauma registry
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to gather and verify data
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to trauma care
- Assist with data analysis and reporting for performance improvement
- Provide education and training to staff on trauma registry documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trauma care
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
