Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support our team of physical therapists in providing exceptional care and rehabilitation services to our patients. As a PTA, you will work closely with our therapists to implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients. Your role will be crucial in helping individuals recover from injuries, disabilities, and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist physical therapists in evaluating and treating patients by performing various therapeutic exercises and techniques.

2. Help patients with their mobility, balance, and range of motion exercises under the guidance of a physical therapist.

3. Observe patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.

4. Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments, progress, and outcomes.

5. Instruct and educate patients and their families on exercises, safety precautions, and home care techniques.

6. Prepare the treatment area and necessary equipment for therapy sessions.

7. Assist with the fitting and use of assistive devices, such as crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs.

8. Collaborate with the therapy team to develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.

9. Follow all safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the therapy area.

10. Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in physical therapy through professional development activities.

11. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

12. May assist in performing administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing insurance documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Associate's degree or certification in Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.

2. Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

3. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

5. Ability to follow instructions and treatment plans set by physical therapists.

6. Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and perform manual therapy techniques.

7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

8. Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

9. Compassionate and empathetic nature to provide emotional support to patients.

10. Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology.
