Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists and assist in providing high-quality patient care. The primary responsibility of the PTA will be to implement treatment plans, perform therapeutic exercises, provide rehabilitative techniques, and support patients in their recovery process. Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assisting physical therapists in evaluating and assessing patient conditions, developing treatment plans, and setting goals.
2. Implementing treatment plans by performing therapeutic exercises, stretches, and various modalities.
3. Assisting patients with the use of equipment and devices required for rehabilitation.
4. Monitoring and documenting patient progress, observing any changes or potential concerns and reporting them to the supervising physical therapist.
5. Educating patients and their families about the therapy process and home exercises to facilitate continued progress and recovery.
6. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
7. Maintaining a clean and organized treatment environment, ensuring the availability and proper functioning of therapy equipment.
8. Adhering to ethical and professional standards, maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) or state-specific licensing exam.
3. Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop rapport with patients and their families.
5. Strong observational skills to assess patient conditions and progress.
6. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with mobility exercises and transfers.
7. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
8. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
9. Ability to maintain accurate and organized patient documentation.
10. Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
