Job Title: LVN - Correctional
Job Summary:
The LVN - Correctional is responsible for providing nursing care to inmates within a correctional facility. This includes administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of inmates.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications to inmates as prescribed by a physician
2. Monitor and record patient vital signs and conditions
3. Assist in medical examinations and procedures
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
5. Provide health education to inmates on various topics such as disease prevention and management
6. Respond to medical emergencies within the facility
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current LVN license in the state of practice
2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a correctional setting
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
6. Knowledge of correctional healthcare practices and protocols
7. Traveler must live 150 miles or more from our facilities in order to be considered
