Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery RN is responsible for providing specialized care to women during childbirth and ensuring the safe delivery of babies. They are also responsible for monitoring the health of both mother and baby before, during, and after delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring the health of the mother and baby throughout labor.
2. Administering medications and pain relief as needed.
3. Assisting the obstetrician during the delivery process.
4. Providing support and guidance to the mother and family members.
5. Educating new mothers on postpartum care and breastfeeding.
6. Documenting all aspects of care provided.
7. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BSN degree preferred.
3.
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
