Job Description

Job title: Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals. They assist with medical procedures, take vital signs, record patient information, administer medications, and perform various administrative tasks in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.

2. Take and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.

3. Update and maintain patient medical records.

4. Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.

5. Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens.

6. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment.

7. Provide patient education and communicate treatment plans.

8. Schedule patient appointments and follow up on lab results.

9. Assist with patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities.

10. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT CANDIDATES (your candidate must meet all of the following requirements): 

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (according to the ABHES and/or CAAHEP) - Required, 
• High School graduate or equivalent (i.e. GED) - Required.
• Participation in a registration program conducted by an accredited by a national health services organization, such as American Medical Technologists, and passing the credentialing exam (e.g. CMA or RMA). - Required
  
• Medical Assistant certification - Required 
• Previous experience in a clinical setting - Required
