Job Title: Radiation Oncology Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiation Oncology Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating radiation therapy equipment to administer treatment to cancer patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. This role plays a critical part in the care and treatment of cancer patients, helping to deliver precise and effective radiation therapy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and position patients for radiation therapy treatments
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment
- Monitor patients during treatment to ensure safety and accuracy
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- Document patient care and treatment information accurately
- Educate patients on radiation therapy procedures and possible side effects
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Certification in Radiation Therapy
- Current ARRT certification
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
