Job Title: Floor Nurse
Job Summary:
The Floor Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care on a busy hospital floor. They will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
2. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the medical team
3. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
4. Provide wound care and dressing changes as needed
5. Communicate with patients and their families regarding their care plans and progress
6. Document patient assessments, nursing interventions, and outcomes in medical records
7. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients
8. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
9. Educate patients on health and wellness practices
10. Assist with emergency procedures as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid nursing license
2. Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
3. Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
8. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
9. Basic computer skills
10. CPR certification
