Job title: Emergency Psych RN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Emergency Psych RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health issues, as well as collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for patients in crisis
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Implement therapeutic interventions to de-escalate and stabilize patients in psychiatric emergencies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with co-occurring mental health and medical issues
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an emergency setting
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of mental health laws and regulations
