Job Title: OR Technologist - Operating Room / Scrub
Job Summary:
As an OR Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) department, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing support to the surgical team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the OR.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Set up sterile fields and ensure a sterile environment in the OR
- Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary instruments and supplies
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and equipment used
- Clean and sterilize instruments after procedures
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and well-being
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
