Job Title: RN Emergency Room
Job Summary:
The RN Emergency Room is responsible for providing immediate care to patients in critical condition or experiencing medical emergencies. They must assess patients, administer medication, perform emergency procedures, and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment in a timely manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and triaging patients upon arrival in the emergency room
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Performing emergency procedures such as intubation, CPR, and wound care
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Documenting patient information and treatment progress accurately and timely
- Educating patients and their families on their condition and treatment options
- Monitoring patient status and responding to changes in condition
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
