Job Title: Surgical Technician
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technician, you will assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring that all necessary tools are available for the procedure. Your role will be vital in providing a safe and efficient surgical environment for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures
2. Sterilize and set up surgical instruments and equipment
3. Assist surgeons and nurses during surgery by passing instruments and supplies
4. Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment
5. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
6. Ensure patient safety and comfort during surgery
7. Assist with patient positioning and draping
8. Perform basic patient care tasks as needed
9. Handle specimens for laboratory analysis
10. Participate in inventory management and restocking of supplies
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent training
3. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
8. Understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices
9. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
10. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends
