Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care to pregnant women during the process of childbirth. You will monitor the mother and baby's vital signs, assist with labor and delivery procedures, and provide emotional support to both the mother and her family. Your primary goal will be to ensure a safe and positive childbirth experience for all patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions during labor
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures, such as epidurals and cesarean sections
- Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families
- Educate patients on childbirth and postpartum care
- Administer medications as needed
- Document patient care and progress in medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license
- BSN degree preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of childbirth procedures and protocols
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Compassionate and caring nature
