Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery will provide care and support to women during childbirth. This includes assisting with labor, delivery, and postpartum care, as well as monitoring the health and well-being of both mother and baby throughout the childbirth process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess the progress of labor and provide support to the mother
2. Assist with the delivery of the baby and provide immediate postpartum care
3. Administer medications as ordered by physicians
4. Educate patients and family members on newborn care and postpartum recovery
5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
6. Document patient observations and care in a timely and accurate manner
7. Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices in labor and delivery nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS certification
3. ACLS certification preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing
5. Strong critical thinking and communication skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions under pressure
7. Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills
