Job Title: LVN - Correctional Health
Job Summary:
As an LVN in Correctional Health, you will provide nursing care to inmates within a correctional facility. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to a unique patient population.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
2. Monitor and assess the health status of inmates on a regular basis.
3. Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
4. Provide health education to inmates on topics such as chronic disease management and preventive care.
5. Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
6. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
7. Adhere to all policies and procedures related to healthcare delivery in a correctional setting.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current LVN license in the state of employment.
- CPR certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of correctional health practices and procedures is preferred.
- Experience working in a correctional facility is a plus.
