Job Description:
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with respiratory disorders, providing respiratory care services, and assisting in the diagnosis of lung conditions. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Follows all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff.
- Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
- Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop patient care plans.
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
- Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions)
- Must be a graduate of a COARC approved Respiratory Care Program with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential according to guidelines set forth by the NBRC.
- Must have current NRP certifications or obtain them within 6 months of hire.
- Must have current BLS certification or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- RRT preferred with at least one year experience, through knowledge and training in the areas of General Respiratory Care as well as Mechanical Ventilation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Pulmonary diagnostics preferred o Cardiac Diagnostics (EKG, Holter monitor, Event Monitor Cardiac Stress Testing) preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
