Job Title: Neonatal Respiratory Care Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neonatal Respiratory Care Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide respiratory care to premature and critically ill infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The Neonatal Respiratory Care Therapist will work under the direction of neonatologists and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to neonatal patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess neonatal patients' respiratory status and implement appropriate respiratory therapy interventions
- Monitor and manage ventilator settings for neonatal patients
- Administer aerosolized medications and perform airway clearance techniques
- Educate parents on neonatal respiratory care techniques and equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement respiratory care plans
- Document patients' progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certifications: NBRC, PALS and BLS (AHA) mandatory.
- Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of recent RRT experience in neonatal respiratory care
- Candidate must have permanent residence at least 100 miles away from the facility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Knowledge of current neonatal respiratory care techniques and equipment
