Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing care and treatment to patients with respiratory disorders. You will work closely with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and educate patients on how to manage their conditions effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting initial patient assessments and developing treatment plans
- Administering and monitoring respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation
- Educating patients on proper medication use and respiratory care techniques
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records
- Responding to emergency situations and providing immediate respiratory support
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- State licensure as a respiratory therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure
