TIMING
Permanent License
Approximately 4-6 weeks upon receipt of all required materials.
LICENCE RENEWAL
- Renewal cadence: 2 years from date of issue
- Renewal fee: $128.50
- Required contact hours: 25 hours of continuing education within the 2-year period preceding the date of renewal.
– At least 2 of these hours must be in pain and pain symptom management.
– No more than 12 credit hours may be earned during a 24-hour period.
Licensure by Endorsement
Process
Permanent License
- Submit an application online and pay the fee.
- Provide a list of all previous names and name changes.
- Provide a background check with fingerprints. Once the online application is completed and submitted you will be emailed an Application Confirmation letter containing instructions to complete the Criminal Background Check (except for those applicants seeking reinstatement, if the license expired within the last three years).
- Answer questions pertaining to good moral character and provide documentation of any prior criminal convictions.
- Affirm that you have completed an implicit bias training.
- Request verification of licensure be sent directly from your original state of licensure to the Michigan BON.
- Affirm that you have completed a training to identify victims of human trafficking.
- Request transcripts from your school verifying you have met the educational requirements of a pre-nursing program to be sent directly to the Michigan BON.
